Thrift & Thrive

Free Household Goods for Students

Wednesday, September 3, 2025 | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. | COM Dining

In need of kitchen supplies? Small appliances? Bedding and Linens? School supplies? Our Thrift & Thrive event offers these supplies and more to students for free! We collect clean, working household items in good condition and redistribute them to where they’re needed.

E-waste and Scrap Metal Recycling

Drive up and drop off

Oct. 8 | 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Lot Y-12 (SW corner of campus behind ITC, follow signs)
Must show a college ID or business card to participate — students, staff, faculty only.

E-waste Recycling

Computers and networking equipment, video and gaming equipment, communication equipment, home and pro audio equipment, medical and lab equipment, office equipment, home appliances and kitchen equipment, lawn and garden equipment (no gas or oil), electronic exercise equipment, photography and lighting

Fees for these items (cash or check collected at event):
  • Cathode tube TVs or CRT monitors, projection TVs, flat screens – $20-$50
  • Freon containing items such as freezers, fridges, A/C units, dehumidifiers – $10

Scrap Metal Recycling

Old grills, patio furniture, wheel barrows, screen door and window frames, gutters, downspouts, rakes, shovels, metal fencing, railings, shelving, hardware, tools, metal posts, pipes, plumbing fittings, saw blades, metal rims (no tires), license plates, light fixtures (no bulbs or ballasts), wire, insulated wire or cable, Christmas lights, ovens, washer/dryer, garbage disposals, water heaters, electric motors, hedge clippers, bicycles, filing cabinets, weight lifting equipment, ironing boards, pots and pans, popcorn tins, home decor
